The usual Friday update.

The Friday Five ~
1. What book or books were special to you in your childhood?
A lot of fairy tale books, particularly Hans Christen Andersen, Brothers Grimm, etc.

2. What was particularly special or memorable about those books?
They were special because my mom and grandparents read them to me all the time so I grew up with those stories.

3. Have you re-read any of them as an adult?
Of course! In fact, I’ve had a long-time desire to re-write one of my favorite fairy tales.

4. If so, were the books as good as you remembered them?
As always. Re-reading childhood books is like visiting a loved one you haven’t seen in a long time.

5. What do you think about movies being made out of children’s classics (like the Chronicles of Narnia, Lord of The Rings, etc.)?
I have no problem with it as long as they don’t add any unnecessary Hollywood drama and they stay faithful to the book. That’s what is ruining the Harry Potter movies, and somewhat ruined Narnia for me. It really is not that hard to stay faithful to the book! The books are practically the screenplays!

Today I learned that I am extremely dependent on electricity. This morning, the power was out from 8am-Noon because PG&E was doing some electrical work around the neighborhood. Although I slept in till about 11am, I literally had nothing to do because the power was out. I couldn’t make food and I couldn’t do my homework (most of my classes have e-homework now, hee hee). Instead I was forced to venture out of the house to buy food and visit Joshua. Oh darn!

In web site news, I’m “washing my quilt” so if my QBee Quilt appears to be missing or some parts aren’t working, you know why. You can see the work-in-progress here if you like.

Anyhoo, I need to go get ready for my 6-10pm shift. As for the answers to yesterday’s questions, I’ll give you guys more time to guess so I’ll post the answers on Monday. Ciao!

Hey, just a question, where did you get your Friday Five? Do you make it up, or is it from a site? I kind of want to jump og the bandwagon, lol.
Right. Now I’m off to look at this quiz, which I somehow missed yesterday! :-O

Sorry you couldn’t find anywhere to comment on the last layout. I guess it just wasnt showing up! That’s so wierd. :faint: Anyways, im not holding it against you because you didnt comment. I’ll let you off. :P
Yeah it sucks whent he power goes off here…our shower is electric so we have to sait and stink till the power comes back! Hahahaha its disgusting!
