DAMN PEOPLE.
Written on Monday, October 16th, 2006 @ 6:18pm

I think the combination of being stressed and knowing I am on my period week is not making me the happiest person. In fact, I’m starting to get to the point where I feel like crying and punching someone in the face all at the same time. I’m quite worried that if I get just the right person to come through my line at work I might just jump over the counter to strangle them. Not exactly a good thing.

However, ranting about certain frustrations seems to make me feel slightly better until the next idiot comes along, so allow me to expound on my encounters with various ass-hat people today.

This afternoon, Yoga was canceled. I always arrive in my Yoga clothes carrying a duffel bag with my normal clothes to change into afterwards. Since class was canceled, I figured I’d go change in the bathroom and be on my way. As I made my way over to the fitness center, along with some other students, the building maintenance dude was there with some other guy doing something in the fitness center, because he unlocked the door as we stood outside. Not realizing an issue was about to occur, I stroll on in heading straight to the bathroom when the maintenance guys yells, “EXCUSE ME, class is canceled!” Taken aback with such rudeness, I reply, “I-I’m just going to change. Can I just change into other clothes real quick?” He gives me a pathetic sigh and says, “FINE.” Gahhh! What a dick! He didn’t need to be so rude! I honestly didn’t know that because a class is canceled the whole damn fitness center was closed. Jesus effin Christ!

I decided to go shopping for a new umbrella since my old one is broken. I went to TJ Maxx, then down the hill to Marshall’s and Ross, and then finally over to Target. This is where my next dilemma occurred. I’m waiting in the parking lot for this old couple to back out so I can snag their spot. They took their sweet ass time backing out because at first they thought I wanted to go past them but then they realized I was waiting for their spot. So I’m sitting there with my turn signal on and once they finally back out, another car coming the opposite direction pulls into that spot. Here’s the kicker … you know who was in the car that took my spot? ANOTHER OLD COUPLE! But wait, it gets better! Guess what was on their license plate? A DAMN HANDICAP SIGN! A lady with her little boy, who saw all of this happen since she was trying to stay out of the original old couples way so they could successfully back out, sympathetically mouthed to me, “I am so sorry!” as I threw my hands up in the air out of frustration.

I know this is cruel, but sometimes I think their should be an age limit to where you can’t be on the road. There are so many old people out on the road that make it frustrating and even dangerous. For example, the other day I’m driving home and this lady slowly pulls out in front of me like nobody else is on the road causing me to swerve in the other lane to avoid an accident with her but almost getting me into an accident with another person. DAMN OLD PEOPLE! GAH!

Surprisingly, last rant of the day did not involve old people, but rather college students. This is a continuation of this rant but only involving a different guy. There’s this really annoying short Asian kid who is like the Asian version of Anthony Storey (all you UMHS people KNOW who I mean ;P ) and I guess he has a class with this girl who happens to be my one and only friend in that class. Since I pretty much have no friends in school, it’s nice to know I have one class where I can socialize with someone. The past two times I haven’t been able to do this because Asian Kid has taken my seat. I brought it to his attention by saying, “Oh, haha, looks like I lost my seat again!” but of course he doesn’t get it. Because he does this I am forced to sit in the back of the class all by myself. It’s quite lonely and frustrating. But since my friend hasn’t made much of an effort to sit by me, I figure I can take a hint.

I think the one thing I hate about college is the fact that you can go to school with even your best friend, but unless you schedule your classes together, you’re pretty much lonely. At least with high school you were guaranteed to see your friends because you all generally had the same schedule. In college it’s a whole new ball game. It really sucks.

Anyway, I’m finished with my negativity for the day. Now I am off to Film History class where I shall be bored out of mind. :(

Aww! It sounds like people who suck seem to be following you around!
I completely agree with you about going to uni with friends, but the campus being so big you never see them anyway! I found that too, at the beginning of this year. Lots of people from my high school go to the same uni as me, and although I see some of them walking around during the day, I don’t really talk to them that much.
Luckily though, my best friend and I are doing pretty similar classes, so I see her almost every day, or at least I did, because lectures have finished now for the year, but yeah, it does suck, especially since it’s a lot harder to meet people if you live off campus than I imagine it would be if you lived in a hall (dorm in the US).
Right. Comment rant over. I hope none of your customers got strangled, and, just so you know, tomorrow (October 18) is apparently No Beard Day. Yep. It was news to me too! –> http://library.thinkquest.org/2886/INDEX.HTM

I agree with you…it seems like every time that I go out driving now a days are are ALWAYS old people who get in front of me and go 30 ON THE FREEWAY:wtf:. And so I move over into the fastlane…and they cut me off…in the fast lane. I know your pain, sista.

If it makes you feel better, I dont have many friends in college either…I have classes with most of those guys and girls who were the “popular” crowd in high school…so they are all stuck up and rather snotty. I’d rather not hang with them…so I get where you’re coming from.

Well, I hope today is a better day! I am off to my English Writing 101 class…woot…:(
