Working with what I’ve got
Written on Thursday, June 21st, 2007 @ 9:04pm

Tonight I rode my bike to Albertson’s to buy pizza and stopped on the way to kill the last of the Poison Oak near my house. It was quite satisfying finishing up that bottle of Poison Oak killer. I really hope it does the trick and I don’t have to deal with that nasty crap for awhile. I can’t afford to take a week off of work again nor do I want to endure the side effects of the drugs.

Speaking of which, those drugs really screwed with me. I think the doctor I went to put me on too high of a dose of Prednisone because when I finished up my pills last Wednesday, I got extremely jittery and had painful headaches. I started getting the headaches after drinking my usual morning coffee so I quit that for two days hoping it would pass. Now, a week later I’m at the point where I’m getting headaches if I don’t have coffee so we’ll see what happens when I have coffee again. One thing’s for sure if I ever get Poison Oak that bad again I am going to a different doctor.

I’m happy to report that I had a very good Father’s Day weekend. Saturday evening my dad came down to my place (Joshua went out of town to be with his fam for the weekend) and we had a very nice dinner together at Il Fornaio. It was his first time actually visiting my new place so he got to see the loveliness I live in, ha ha. Sunday we went over to my grandparents for a late lunch. My dad went home afterwards while my sister stayed at my grandparents and my mom came over to my place. My mom ended up staying through today in which she helped me clear my backyard among other things. It was really nice spending this much time with my family.

Flirt Bath Ensemble

Thanks to the Roxy Room and Bath Decor collection, I have finally decided on a color scheme for my bathroom. As my readers know, the tiles in my bathroom have been a nightmare to deal with, but after much toil, I’ve decided to work with it. Ideally, I want to rip everything out and completely remodel, but money and grandparents won’t allow me to do that. I’m working with the pink tiles and going with a pink, white, and brown color scheme. I got the Roxy wastebasket and kleenex cover, a pink tub mat, and brown floor mats + toiler cover and now my bathroom looks amazing. Once Joshua puts the shelving up it will be complete. To top it off, I found this grount marker so I’m using it to go over all the old grout making it look like brand new. I’m quite happy that I can decorate off a brand that at one time was my absolute favorite. The bedding they have ain’t too bad either.

Welp, I have to get up early for an 8:30am shift tomorrow, one that I don’t want to be late for. Before I forget, I got my first real review at work on Monday and I got a raise bumping my pay up to $10.95/hr. I did get a ‘warning’ in regards to my attendance because of me going home a few times when I was sick, so I need to watch it with my attendance.

Joshua plans on stumbling into bed anywhere around 4am due to him coming from his brother’s birthday/LAN party. He went up this evening and is coming back early in the morning since he has work tomorrow. Crazy, I know, but this is kind of his last chance to spend time with his bro before he goes off to boot camp.

Anyhoo, I’ve done enough rambling for now. Excuse me while I go upgrade WordPress.

Yeah I have to agree with you, as far as family get togethers this one wasn’t that bad. Minus Mormor drama..but that’s sort of given. I had lots of fun going to Bayview/Baystreet whatever shopping center and shopping today, oh yeah and losing Mom after we went to Barnes & Nobles’ Starbucks…haha. Well I cannot wait to see your bathroom with all your new stuff. I hope Mom and I can come down again soon before I go to camp so we can do more work in the yard. Love you lots! Have a wonderful friday and weekend! :)

Good for you for finally getting rid of the poison oak. Good luck on your bathroom remodeling; I hope it looks very pretty once you’re done! Congratulations on your raise as well.
