Well here we are back to the beginning of another week. Over the weekend I worked my butt off so naturally I was exhausted come Sunday. I worked a closing shift on Friday and then woke up around 4am so I could make it for a 6am shift Saturday morning. Plus Joshua is on-call for Mercedes this week so he got woken up at 2am by someone who needed fuel. Needless to say I did not have much energy for Saturday especially since I was still feeling run down from my cold. I did have plenty to do at work so my shift did go by fast. I hadn’t felt that run down afterwards since my 5am-2pm Black Friday shift from last year. And yet I managed to have enough energy to do a little soap shopping at BBW!
On Sunday Joshua and I got invited over to my grandparents house for lunch. I had a little mix up with time that morning because two of my clocks thought this weekend was when Daylight Savings Time ends so they went back an hour. I had to call my parents and ask for the correct time since my other clocks were telling me different times. Found out that it’s next weekend when we change the clocks back. Went over to my grandparents around 1pm, in which I helped prepare lunch. We left around 3pm I think and the went down to the nearby shopping center where they had a parking lot pumpkin patch going on. We decided next year we’re getting our pumpkins from the grocery store as $18 for two pumpkins is ridiculous.
Came home and spent the rest of the day carving my pumpkins. I got a big orange one and a small white one. I bought a pumpkin carving kit earlier this week at Target which came with some really cute designs. This was the first time I carved a pumpkin without a standard Jack-o-Lantern face. The orange one we used a design from the kit and the white one I carved a design of Oogie Boogie. They look so good! I also plan on picking up a smaller pumpkin and carving the Old Navy logo to bring to work for decoration. Once I get some battery operated pumpkin lights I’ll take some pictures. I’m really excited. A big thanks to Martha Stewart for her pumpkin carving tips, haha!
If any of you have been lurking around my MySpace or Facebook lately, you’ll notice my status says, “Cristina is happy she finally figured out how to put her DVDs on her iPod!!” Courtesy of this article I figured out how to do it and have been happily converting my DVDs all weekend. And believe it or not they’re not taking up as much space as I thought they would be. I finally feel like I am getting my money’s worth out of my iPod, as well as the pretty new case I got for it (I’m becoming a Bay Area girl now, haha).
I think I best be starting my day now. Tootles!

It’s Halloween tomorrow for us! The kids at work are so excited! I don’t know whether I’m just as excited myself - or dreading going into work to deal with the results to having eaten too many sweets! Should be good though, we don’t really celebrate it in NZ, but our assistant supervisor is American, so she’s jumped on the bandwagon and taken everybody with her!
Lol, that’s hilarious about having to ring your parents for the time because your clocks had a life of their own! o.O
Wow, $18 for two pumpkins IS insane! It’d be cheaper to grow your own! Mind you, the pumpkins people carve for Halloween look huge, I’ve never seen one that big in my life!
Ha, yes. That was one of the only ways I would buy an ipod video and that is if I could find a way to put dvds on it. And I did! Whoo. I was watching Jurassic Park 2 today on it. But it’s perfect because I go to work out and I just watch a movie while I am doing it. Time flies so fast :D
I bet your pumpkins look gorgeous. I didn’t buy one and I don’t think I will. Who knows. I suck at carving and I am not artistic…so even though I would have a design, I would probably mess it up. So I have a blow up one that we will use! It uses a battery to make it glow. LOL. But I am super excited to give out candy.
I didn’t get to carve a pumpkin this year.
