Yesterday I worked a 1-10pm shift. I was in a so-so mood, not having anything to do with work itself, but rather because it has just been a busy past couple of days. Plus my nails were in a lot of pain thanks to the two Vietnamese ladies who beat my cuticles to a pulp while giving me a fill that morning. I didn’t get any ONCs so I was feeling a little discouraged by the time I went on my lunch break. About 15 minutes before it was over my manager wanted to talk to me about something. I was a little nervous about what it could be, what with the whole theft situation, which apparently is now closed. To recap, a customer’s diamond fell off her ring in our store. It was found and put in the safe until the customer came to retrieve it. When she did the diamond was missing. Everyone who had access to the safe was under suspicion. I only recently found out that the diamond was not found so the store had to pay for it.

Anyways, so I went into the office to talk to my manager and she offered me a temporary key-holder position. Basically it’s a test-run to be a supervisor. They know I have been interested in being trained for a supervisor for quite some time, plus a few of the supervisors are leaving, and they usually have a temporary key-holder or two during the holiday season. If I do well during December it’s most likely this will become permanent. I’m so happy that I am FINALLY getting the opportunity to move up from being just an associate. Sure becoming a cash handler separated me from most of the employees, but it was like I was in limbo between associate and supervisor. I’m really excited to have the chance to prove myself, and I just hope that I can do a good job at this.

I finally got around to figuring out how my new camera works. I’ve been dying to take some pictures of the house for awhile now, but I’m not going to until the house is fully decorated for Christmas. So I decided to take a picture for the “What’s In Your Bag” group on Flickr. I wanted to wait until I splurged on a new purse from Coach or somewheres before submitting a picture, but since there isn’t a design I am too fond of at the moment (and hey I better like the design before spending over $300 on it!), I figured I’ll just use what I got. The items you see are what I bring with me on a daily basis. Notes on what the actual contents are can be found here.

Today after Joshua comes home from work we’re heading on up to my parent’s house. Thanksgiving day Joshua will be with his family, and I will be with mine. I am very stoked for all the yummy food I will be eating! Only thing I won’t be happy about is the pounds I gain, haha. Black Friday won’t be too bad as I’m working an 8am-5pm shift and food will be provided all day. :)

Yay for more responsibility at work! I hope it becomes a permanent thing! :)
Lol, if it makes you feel any better, I have a little bottle of Purell too, which comes basically everywhere with me - my job involves little kids so I kinda need it!
