So I’m a little sad because last night I came home to find dead fish. My tetras were already dead, and then I watched Pippin the Betta go into shock and pass on. Joshua cleaned the tank last night (I was at work) and apparently did everything just as I would, so I have no idea what happened. When we clean the tank it’s always together. He’s responsible for getting the water out and cleaning the gravel while I take the fish out and clean the decorations. We’ve cleaned the tank tons of times so the only difference last night was me not being there.

I have a big beautiful clean tank sitting out in my living room and no fish in it. I’m kinda afraid to get new fish, for fear of killing them. :(

Other than that, life is okay. I cannot wait for this semester to be over with. For some reason fall semester always seems the hardest. My crazy geography teacher unloaded a ton of stuff on us in regards to our final. I have to write a paper on what I learned over the semester, memorize it so when I turn it in I can sit back down to rewrite it from memory as part of the essay portion of my exam. Problem is I don’t understand a lot of the stuff in this class mainly because I am a business major, and the only rocks I deal with are the ones in place of some peoples brains in the real world!

As I sat down to organize my life in my planner last night for the next two weeks, I was a lot calmer after I realized the only class I really have to worry about is geography. Computers is a breeze, and math I’m just trying to be optimistic about. My teacher said in order to pass the class I would have to dedicate an hour each day to studying geography, something I can pull off. Now it’s just a matter of actually passing the class.

Today is work from 1-10pm, tomorrow I leave for home so I can go to the André Rieu concert with my Nana. And then next week is when the craziness really begins due to it being the final week of classes. Yikes!

I installed a new plug-in yesterday, which will allow me to reply to comments left here. Hopefully it works!

    Poor fishes!! :(
I gave up having fish, I was never very good at looking after them, but the sister of one of my friends just got an axolotyl, and they look pretty cool, so I kind of want one of them now!
Good luck for your busy weeks!

Aw, I am sorry to hear about your fish…it sucks that they have such a short life span. And the fact that you watched one die is even more sad :(

Good luck with everything in the next two weeks. I know how you feel…it’s such a lot of work. I am feeling it too. But it’s the last two weeks of school and DONE for the holidays! :D Whoo.

I’m so sorry abuot your fish. I don’t know exactly how you’ve cleaned the tank in the past and how Joshua cleaned it on his own this last time but I had a couple suggestions to help you keep any new fish happy and healthy. When cleaning a tank you should never COMPLETELY clean it out because the fish need the helpful bacteria that is in their water. If you have a biowheel filter you can clean out almost all the water and clean most the gravel as long as you leave the biowheel dirty. If you don’t have a biowheel you should leave a small amount of water or not completely clean out the gravel. Also, hard water can kill fish, so if you have hard water where you live you should use filtered water. You might want to get one of those water chemical testing kits or bring a sample of the water you put in the tank to your local pet store, most pet stores test water for free.

I hope I’m not bugging you, if you already know all this feel free to ignore me. :P Good luck with the rest of your semester. I agree that Fall always seems like the longest/hardest.
