The Friday Five ~
1. Do you consider yourself to be a good housekeeper? Why or why not?
For the most part yes. I have a wee bit of my mom in me, so I enjoy keeping a good house. Sometimes I don’t have the time to keep things as tidy as I’d like, but on days like today it gives me the chance to get things just right.
2. Are there any household chores that you enjoy doing? If so, what and why?
Believe it or not I enjoy doing laundry. Maybe it has to do with the fact I was never forced to do my own laundry until I moved out. I think I like it because I have control over how my clothes turn out.
3. Which household chore frustrates/angers you the most?
I’d have to say doing dishes, more specifically re-cleaning the kitchen the next day because Joshua is too lazy to do it properly. He just does dishes and that’s it. Part of doing dishes is also wiping the counters and stove down. It’s interesting because I hear myself saying the same thing to Joshua that my parents would say to me back when I was living at home and dishes were my job, “We shouldn’t have to be cleaning up after you the next day!”
4. When doing household chores, what do you do to make them seem less of a “chore”?
I don’t necessarily do anything, it’s more of mentally cheering myself. Knowing that I won’t have to do it later, and even the prospect of taking pictures makes it more rewarding.
5. Which chore do you find yourself doing most often, and why?
Vacuuming and laundry are a tie. Vacuuming because when the cats play they get fur everywhere and laundry because Joshua is a dirty, greasy, sweaty mechanic.

Happy Belated Valentine’s Day, y’all.
Yesterday was very busy for me. I was up at 8:30am, went to weight training at 9:40am, where I had an excellent work-out! I’m very sore this morning so I know I did good yesterday. On the elliptical machine I’m averaging about 2.5 miles in 30 minutes burning roughly 290 calories each time. Then depending upon how much time I have left I go on the exercise bike for about 10 minutes to cool down. I’m hoping to see some improvements by the end of the semester weight-wise with me. After weight training was my last day of my Math Anxiety class. Overall I think it was a good class. I think think the best part was knowing I am not alone in my anxiety, and while it will never go away I still have tools to help me choose how I react to different situations.
When I got home I immediately began baking. I made strawberry cupcakes with white frosting and chocolate dipped pretzels in red and white chocolate for work. It took me about two hours to get all of that done, so by the time I dropped them off at work and came home, I only had an hour left before my French class started that evening. Joshua dropped me off for class and when it was time to pick me up 2 hours later, he was 20-25 minutes away due to him getting a call (he’s on call this week for Mercedes-Benz roadside service), so I called my grandpa to pick me up.
I was forced to hide in the office room once Joshua came home so he could set up the living room for me…
For dinner he brought me a sandwich and salad from my favorite restaurant, Mary’s Pizza Shack along with a bottle of Martinelli’s Sparkling Cider, a vase of roses AND… Sex and the City - The Complete Series (Collector’s Giftset)!! After having this on my wishlist for 4 years or so I FINALLY have it! He also hinted about getting another part of my Valentine’s Day present today… ?
Overall, I had a very nice Valentine’s Day. How was yours?

Hahah, I just noticed you and I do different Friday Fives! Where do you get your questions from? I get mine from friday5.org.

Yay for going to the gym and weight training! I used to do that at uni too, but when I started my current job it entailed my walking up and down my hill every day, so that’s my exercise instead. Convenient.
Sounds like you and Joshua had a nice Valentine’s Day! This is SO strange, but I saw somebody who looks like him (judging by the photos of the two of you that I have seen), the other day! He was in the library at uni and I KNEW he looked like someone I’d seen before, but it took me ages to work out who! Lol! I wonder if he has a mysterious clone living on the other side of the world!? o.O
Awe! Sounds like you had a lovely valentines ^^ Those cup cakes look so yummy. *glomps*
unfortunately i was sick
so i stayed in bed all day, but my hunnyb cooked me dinner so it wasn’t all bad. i bet those roses smelled beautiful. i always tell my bf that i don’t need flowers or anything.. but the girly part of me has to admit that being given roses is so nice.
I really like doing laundry too. Well actually, I think I like FOLDING warm clothes - they smell so good!
I thought it was an unspoken rule - Dishes, sink, stove! Argh. Hah.
What a beautiful valentine’s day set up. I love how thoughtful everything is - Who says sandwiches aren’t worthy of a romantic vday setting?!
Enjoy the Sex in the City - I think I may have to find me some choco covered pretzels.
Take care!
Aww too cute!!! What a sweet boyfriend ya got there (I think he’s a keeper!)… It sounds like you’re starting to get buff eh? I miss you lots and lots! Btw.. what is an elliptical machine?
How romantic!! I’m glad you had a good day ;)
