The Friday Five ~
1. How long ago did you join LJ?
I joined in the summer of 2002 as gryffindorgirl5. Soon everyone in school knew where my blog was, and I was getting harassed because of it; I deleted it and started knightbusgirl. My friend who gave me my new name decided eventually she was too righteous to be my friend so I invested into a rename token to darth_cena to match my web site name.
2. How did you find out about LJ?
A fellow cabin mate from my summer camp had a link to her LJ on her web site so I thought I’d check it out. This was back when you had to be invited to sign up, so I ask her if she could give me an invite code to join. From that moment on began my love for blogging and all things web-site/Internet.
3. If someone introduced you to LJ, is s/he still on your friends list?
Hah, no. We lost touch, and I think she stopped using hers. Apparently MySpace is cooler.
4. Have you introduced anyone to LJ?
Yeah, I tried to get quite a few people to go with LJ. They’d create one, write several entries and forget about it. Again, MySpace bulletins are apparently the way-to-go nowadays.
5. Is your LJ public or friends only, and why?
As of right now it’s public because my entries from Darth Cena are cross-posted over there; however entries dating back to when I first started are Friends Only. When I first entered the LJ scene I figured maybe people would understand me better if my thoughts were public. It kinda backfired on me Harriet-the-Spy-style, so I eventually went Friends Only. I went public again when I started cross-posting.

I do the same thing. I’ve had an LJ for years and years and now have my blog posts CP’d over, but everything else in the past is protected.
Ewww, MySpace is so icky. I had a profile but deleted it and refuse to have anything to do with it at all…only thing I left was the profile I made for my character on World of Warcraft. XD
Ohhhh and you know what, after being SUPER CAREFUL (like tip toe don’t let anyone touch careful) about my iPhone I read a few reviews on its durability and it is literally insane. These guys roughly rubbed keys over the glass surface and did tons of drop tests and the only damage to the gadget were some scratches in the metal/plastic on the back from the drops! Not even a dent in the glass!
It’s actually quite durable, more than I thought it would be…even more than the iPod, which seemed to get scratches on the mirrored back and its front soooo easily. This thing acts like it fell off a space ship, lol.
Of course, the glass gets smudges from your fingerprints but it cleans off really easy…especially with the little cloth they send with the phone.
All this doesn’t make me 100% trusting of what might happen to it so I bought a full coverage “InvisibleSheild” (invisibleshield.com) which I just got a day or so ago and am planning on splurging on a good case.
Ok, I need to go write an overdue blog post on this thing now or it will just end up being your comment!! XD
*hugs*
I’ve had my LJ for almost a decade now but I have to admit since I got my own domain I hardly write in it unless i need to vent about personal stuff. For this reason, almost all my posts are either private or friends only. ~_~
But I still love it!! I love clicking on my archives and reading what i did 5 years ago today.
