Hiding in Shame
Written on Monday, March 24th, 2008 @ 7:22am

I had a very interesting, but overall fun Easter weekend away from home. Joshua and I left for our hometown Saturday morning. On the way up we visited his dad in Sacramento, stopped at my old store in Folsom to make a return, got In-n-Out and headed up to my parents house. This visit didn’t start off great because my dad decided to reprimand Joshua and I because Joshua was driving my car. Even though it’s my car, it’s registered to my dad and under his insurance, and since Joshua is not covered I’m liable if anything happens. Its been an on-and-off issue over the years but due to the added on family stress my dad vented to me through the issue of my car. Lame, I know.

We met up with Bobby (Joshua’s brother) and his girlfriend Amber and went out to dinner at Macaroni Grill. After looking around at Best Buy, we headed on over back to Joshua’s family’s house where we stayed until 10pm.

I was up at 7:30am Easter morning so I could work on math homework. I had a lot of homework this past week so I was trying to get as much of it in as possible during my downtime. Mom presented us with Easter baskets in which I got some pretty cool things like 101 Dalmatians on DVD and a travel hairdryer. Joshua got an “Easter Bag” from my mom that had a bunch of nice clothes and Reese’s in it. We had a nice breakfast and then Joshua and I left for service.

After church with the family we headed back to their house where I got some more math homework in before we had our second breakfast. I watched the family do an Easter Egg hunt and then we played, “Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?” via the DVD they got. Once we finished playing (it was girls vs. boy and we won, haha) Joshua and I left for my Nana’s house.

AND GUESS WHO DIDN’T SHOW HER FACE AT EASTER! evil Someone was too cowardly to show up so she stayed with her mom for Easter. I felt bad for my Nana though. She’s pretty much the only person who has no idea what’s really going on, and its only because we didn’t want to bring the drama up for Easter. It will be interesting to see how things go from here on out. My uncle already knows that all of us know the kind of crap Megan has been saying about us. So we’ll just see…

Welp, I have a business exam to go study for and a chiropractor to go see. My back has been in constant pain ever since I threw it out at the beginning of the month. Yup, not fun.

I’m still jealous of the “haul” you got for Easter!! XD Lucky!! Lots o’ nice stuff.

HA about your cousin not showing up. She needs to get over herself and realize that alienating your family like that is never the smart thing to do.

Aww, I hope your back feels better. :(

I think that’s kind of a good idea for you not to involve your grandmother in all the family drama that’s been happening recently. It sounds like it’d upset the apple cart even more than it already has been, and certainly wouldn’t help the situation any.
Your cousin’s problem is HER problem. She sounds seriously immature. I agree with Melissa’s comment that she needs ro grow up and learn to get along better with your family, even if she doesn’t always approve of everything they do.
Good luck for your exam. :)

mmm, i’m in agreement w/ the rest of the girls here. you’ve done really all you can… at this point, if she doesnt realize how she’s hurting everyone, she never will.

don’t let her bring you down *hugs*
