1. What makes you feel old?
Knowing that no one is going to make a big deal about any birthdays here on out until I turn 40.
2. What makes you feel young?
When I’m asked for my ID to buy a drink and they take longer than normal looking at it.
3. What was better when you were allowed to do it the old way?
Hand-coding a web site! Not using stupid pagebuilders and Dreamweaver!
4. What’s better now that you do it the new way?
Using WordPress to manage my site. Is it weird I think it’s cheating just a wee bit?
5. What’s something you are old school about?
I’m hella old school about manners. I think it comes from my grandmas. Saying ‘thank you’ and ‘please’ are classy! Men holding doors open and pulling our chairs is sexy too.

Okay so many things to talk about. Yesterday I had my interview. She asked me to talk about my experiences with Old Navy and BBW, both of which I think I summed up nicely. Then I had to do a demo with the lip kit on her to show how comfortable I was doing make-up on other people. I was super nervous because I’m not all that familiar with doing lip-liner (I called it eyeliner by accident 
) I felt like I did good because I’ve done product demos on customers before when I worked at BBW. We went into the back and I filled out an actual application.
Overall I felt like it went really well, but as I predicted, my availability was an issue. I guess it’s a requirement to work weekends so the fact I can’t work Sundays seems to be a big problem. The other problem is they only allow you to change your availability once every 6 months, something that really doesn’t work for me with my school schedule constantly changing. I think it would be a great place to work, however I think I’m starting to hit the point where I am no longer part-time material. My schedule is just not allowing it. She’s suppose to get back with me by Monday so if I get offered the job I am going to say thanks, but no thanks. I’m hoping she’ll just tell me I didn’t get the job, but that would be too easy. 
Before my interview I had to make a little trip to the Genius Bar at the Apple Store. Wednesday afternoon Ebony started acting up. I plugged her in so she could charge and transfer my lecture recordings onto Elphie. Instead I got a nasty message telling me Ebony is corrupted and needs to be reformatted or whatever. I click the OK button and carry along with my business. Later when I go to use her she wouldn’t work at all. They said she had a rare hardware glitch so they exchanged her for a brand new one. Here’s hoping to no more software glitches! 
Yesterday marked my official last day of classes. All I have next week are finals. Luckily I only have two finals (French and Business) since my math teacher had us take our cumulative 26-question final on Wednesday. She said if we get an ‘A’ on the final we’ll get an ‘A’ in the class. I feel like I probably got a ‘B’ on the exam which is fine with me because my midterm grade was the same. I’m just happy I’m finally passing this class! Woo!
Today is my last day at Old Navy, unless for some reason they have me work tomorrow. I don’t think I’ll mind if I do just because it is so damn hot here, and they have AC! Yesterday was our first heatwave of the year. I went to the beach as soon as my interview was done so I had someplace cool to do my homework. Today isn’t as hot and hopefully it will stay that way!

The beach!! Oh you really make me want to go to the lake in my community. Dammit, I have to go to work. Ah, maybe it will still be really hot after and I will go out. But definitely after work tomorrow
I hope your interview call comes the way you want it to. If not, good luck with turning it down. It sounds like they are pretty demanding anyway. And congrats on finishing classes, it’s truly one of the best feelings in the world!!
Wow! The Friday 5 is actually interesting for once! I haven’t liked the questions for the last month or so, so I haven’t done it.
Oh dear about feeling old. I’m kind of in the same boat, I only get one more “exciting birthday” until I’m 40 too! GAH!
Lol I used to use Dreamweaver. I learned it at school and it’s what got me into website stuff initially, so I suppose it’s not all bad, but now I’ve learned how to do everything through WP I don’t need it so much anymore.
No, I don’t think using WP is cheating at all, using it requires a whole different “set” of skills, an hey, why make things harder for yourself if you don’t have to! So long as your site looks good and functions properly, I don’t think it matters.
I’m kind of the same about manners too, although I think that comes from my parents as opposed to my grandparents, since mine have all passed away now.
On Thursday this guy gestured for me to get on the bus before him, even though he’d been waiting since before I got there. I must have looked surprised because the driver laughed and was like “There are still gentlemen around, apparently!”. Is it sad that that made me smile so much!? :P
Good luck with turning the job down, it sucks that your schedule won’t allow you do part-time work anymore, but I hope you find something a bit more suitable.
Oh dear, poor Ebony, I get so frustrated by technical glitches! Luckily my friend’s dad works at the Apple place in Christchurch, and he’s rescued my laptop SO many times! :P
Good luck with your exams! I love the end of classes! 3 weeks to go for me, and then nothing for over a month! I don’t have any exams this semester though, since I’m only taking two classes and one is assessed with the portfolio of research we’ve done over the semester, and one is assessed by a seminar presentation and a short test. :D

1. What makes you feel old?
Whenever I’m downtown and I pass some teens in ripped clothing and dirty sweaters and silly makeup… then i feel really old.
2. What makes you feel young?
I get Carded too, and I’m 25! But they’re just doing their job so i never get offended.
3. What was better when you were allowed to do it the old way?
Hmm… the old way. Making popcorn on the stove. Soooooo much better than microwave.
4. What’s better now that you do it the new way?
Hmm.. i love cell phones. They’ve come so far and it’s awesome.
5. What’s something you are old school about?
Hmm.. old school can mean so many things. I like converse shoes.

But I’m glad you’re at a decision on what you’re going to do. So does that mean you’re taking up your grandma’s offer? I bet it will all work out great in the end. :D
