The Friday Five ~
1. What were some of the smells and tastes of your childhood?
Oh this is going to sound weird… corndogs and cherry icees. Reminds me of how I was always going to K-Mart with my mom as a kid and leaving the Barbie section, crying haha!
2. What did you have as a child that you do not think children today have?
MANNERS! Kids these days are such spoiled brats. Whatever happened to politeness and manners?
3. What elementary grade was your favorite?
5th grade was my favorite. I had a great circle of friends, and I had my first “boyfriend.”
4. What summer do you remember the best as a child?
All my summers were kinda the same as a kid: going to summer daycare. I hated it, especially the days we didn’t get to go to the city pool. I do remember the summer I was in third grade went to Santa Cruz. It was the first real family vacation.
5. What one piece of advice would you give to your younger self, and at what age?
Stay away from the fast food! Fast food is bad and evil and is making it extremely hard for your 21 year-old self to lose weight!

I had a rather scary situation today. I went to the bank to deposit a check into savings, and the teller says to me, “Um it looks like your account has been closed.”
I couldn’t believe what I was hearing so I finally gave her my debit card to check it out. Turns out she misread my handwriting and all it took was one digit to make a difference between my account and someone elses. Luckily everything got taken care of and my savings account was still active with my money in it! Whew!
This morning I discovered I was out of Coffee Mate so I decided this afternoon to walk to the grocery store. On my way there I stumbled upon a shopping cart that belonged to the grocery store I was going. I figured since I was on my way there I might as well return the cart. I felt rather silly walking down the bike path pushing a shopping cart where other women are normally pushing strollers. I probably pissed a neighborhood bum off too but oh well!
This weekend Joshua and I are heading up to our hometown so I’ve got to turn off Sex and the City and go pack!
P.S. I got a little humor out of the fact my work schedule (all days off) was sent to me today. Sheesh.
P.P.S. Melissa is awesome for helping me with MediaShelf. SOOPER DOOPER AWWWSUUM!

LOL!! How far did you have to push the shopping trolley? :P
Eeee! I’m trying my best to figure out what’s up with MS for you. I can’t for the life of me seem to reproduce the error on my end. I’m gonna email you about that in a sec.
*craves corndogs like wow*
AHH! That would have scared the pantz off of me!
I’m bad enough with money as it is! XD Glad it was only a misread mistake though. Whew!
Haha, shopping cart! XD Poor neighborhood bum!!!

1. What were some of the smells and tastes of your childhood?
Calamine (sp?) lotion always reminds me of my childhood since i always had mosquitoe bites and i hated the itching so my mom would apply some. Also, burnt rubber, from my mom drying my shoes in the oven when i used to puddle jump.
2. What did you have as a child that you do not think children today have?
I have to 100% agree w/ you. Kids do not have the simplest manners these days. No please and thanks, no table ettiquette, or how to behave in public. it’s really quite sad.
3. What elementary grade was your favorite?
Hmm… 2 and 6. Kinda tied. Just good friends and no cares in all the world.
4. What summer do you remember the best as a child?
hmm.. i have a twin sister. so it’s like having a built in best friend that you can never stay mad at.. so every summer was amazing. we used to do so much playing! and picnics, and trips to parks and swimming at the local pool. it was always fun.
5. What one piece of advice would you give to your younger self, and at what age?
Hmm.. yah, i would have warned myself to keep w/ good eating habits too. not realizing what a struggle it would be in years to come. but other than that… iono, i’m pretty content where i am. so that’s prolly it.
