Crippled Again
Written on Wednesday, May 28th, 2008 @ 6:38pm

I know this is silly and it’s only a website, but I’m a tad bit bummed I got rejected by Perfection for the 2nd time. I was so excited about my latest design, and I thought I had really improved since the last time I applied. I made sure everything validated correctly. I tried to make an original layout. I dunno… I just felt like I really did good this time and yet it’s not enough. :|

Sorry for the pity party. It’s just discouraging sometimes. :((

Yesterday while cleaning the toilet I threw my back out again. Hurts like a mofo and of course it happens not only when I am in the middle of doing something, but prior to having a ton of stuff to do which involves bending over like yardwork and washing my grandpa’s car. Plus I was planning on getting together with Anna today and instead I had to race back to my side of the Bay after my orthodontist appointment to see my chiropractor. BOO!

Aside from my hangover, I had a very good Memorial Day weekend. Sunday night I saw Prince Caspian with Joshua, Mom, and Smelly. Such a good movie! Prince Caspian himself is hella sexy and we (Smelly and I) got all giddy whenever Caspian had a moment or two with Susan.

Prince Caspian: I wish we could have had more time together.
Susan: We never would have worked, anyway.
Prince Caspian: Why not?
Susan: Well, I am 1300 years older than you.

I haven’t read the whole book yet so I was able to fully enjoy the movie. Is it pathetic I got a little teary-eyed when Aslan finally showed up? I’m really happy they’re turning The Voyage of the Dawn Treader into a movie as well. Now I really need to catch up with my reading!

Monday I did some shopping with Mom and Smelly, which involved looking at bicycles for moi. My school is in the process of remodernization thus slowly shutting down various parking lots; as if we don’t have enough trouble parking as it is. Fuel is expensive so I figure the least I can do to get in shape this summer is ride a bike to school. I’ll save money on a parking permit, that’s for sure!

Tuesday I went to the city with my grandparents and then came back home to do some serious cleaning in the bathroom and kitchen. I invested in a brand new shower rod complete with a new curtain. The new shower rod alone makes the shower a million times bigger and thus showers more enjoyable, despite the nasty tiles.

I also took down one of the shelves in the bathroom, put it above the stove in the kitchen, and placed the microwave on it opening up a ton of counter space. I’m trying to reorganize the entire kitchen, mainly so I can have a spot for my booze, tee hee. ;P I know I learned nothing from the past weekend!

I decided on a date for a Housewarming Party therefore motivating me to get more done around the house. I just hope people will show for this one!

Anyhoo, that’s all for today folks!

My dear, you have totally 200% improved! Don’t take the feedback from Perfection too much to heart…although several of the people in there are good with constructive criticism there are also a few choice ones who are quite haughty and vote no to pretty much everything. I’m in there, but I rarely vote. To be honest, the only reason I’m even there is because I was in it back when it was just a little clique that Bubs had made. I highly doubt I’d get into it…*maybe* with my current design, but everything in the past I know they would have slammed me for. :(

Anyhoo, awww your back. :( I hope it gets better! :(

Prince Caspian was definitely a good one…although the whole thing between Susan and Caspian wasn’t…really…like that. At least not from what I remember reading. I think they hammed it up in the movie. Gotta have a bit o’ love in there. Especially since that is Susan’s last real appearance. :( I’m excited for them to do the other books too! :D

*AHEM*…what’s this twittering I hear about you needing to buy tickets for SATC?!?! Are they…extra? Or did you already use your birthday gift from me? XD I’m gonna go this week too…PARTY!!!

Oh yes…and do you live anywhere near Anaheim, CA at all? I think I spelled it right…

Oh…your poor back! I totally sympathize, I did a number on my back the other day, too. I’ve never been to a Chiropractor but yesterday I finally got fed up and just went. I go today and tomorrow, too so hopefully both you and I are feeling better soon. :D

I really want to see Prince Caspian! I keep hearing mixed reviews so it’s nice to hear you liked it. I’m thinking I might go next week (so I can take the kids, they will out of school for the summer by then).

Those people at perfection suck because I think your website rocks so much! You are even strictly validated, not just transitional! I am so impressed. Don’t be sad ;P I liked Prince Caspian too…it was great. I also got teary when Aslan came into the picture…unfortunately, he didn’t get nearly enough screen time. I wanted him to show up waaaay earlier! :( I like your new shower curtain. I have seen those curved rod thingys and I have always thought about getting one. Hmmm, maybe now I will because you recommend it so much. Another thing…I can’t find your email ANYWHERE and I want to talk to you about netflix. Can you please email me at redhead@just-like-magic.org ? Thanks so much.

Yes yes…I love this version of yours very much. It’s neat and has a professional (+ web 2.0) look. But may be try next time…i don’t know…if you’re not too tired. ;-)

Speaking of orthodontists and chiropractors, I should probably go see some of those myself! :P Hope your back feels better soon.

I haven’t seen Prince Caspian yet. To be honest, I don’t really care whether I see it or not, but Colin wants to see it I think.

Too bad you didn’t get into Perfection. Your site is great whether they all think so or not. Like Melissa said, I think a few people over there are just anti-other people (if that makes any sense). Some of the reviews I got from the last time I applied were just very snooty and immature in my opinion. But oh well! :)
