I Want to Ride My Bicycle
Written on Monday, June 16th, 2008 @ 5:39pm

Woo what a fast and busy weekend! Friday was a busy day of cleaning and laundry; once Joshua came home we headed on up to my parent’s house. Saturday morning, Mom, Smelly and I all piled into Joshua’s truck to go bicycle shopping. We first headed to Sunrise Mall so Joshua could look at tools at Sears and so I could get a few tops at American Eagle. Next we went to Sport’s Authority to use a $40 store credit towards a good bike lock and a helmet.

We came back up the hill hoping to find a bicycle at Placerville Bike Shop. I was in the market for a comfort bike, and unfortunately this shop only had two, both of which were close to $500. We decided to pass and headed on over to Golden Spoke Bike Shop where I found the perfect for roughly $300!

My New Bike

After we dropped my new bike off at my house, Smelly, Joshua and I met up with Joshua’s family at the El Dorado County Fair. The fair wasn’t that big of a deal, especially since I didn’t see any of my friends like I normally do. The only thing of interest was to see how Joshua’s siblings did with selling their livestock. The rides weren’t even worth going on since it was $1 per ticket, and the rides required either 4 or 5 tickets. It’s sad how this fair used to be such a big thing, and now it’s becoming a joke. I was still happy to see the family though.

Sunday morning I left with Mom and Smelly and met my dad down at my house. While Mom and Dad went over to my grandparents house right away, Smelly and I rode our bikes down to my school so could test out the route before going to school today. It took roughly 15 minutes to get from my house over to my school, and the majority of it was on a secluded bike path. After we got back we made a quick run to the grocery store for ingredients to make garlic bread and then came over to grandparents house. It was a long afternoon filled with lots of food and good conversation. My dad was going to stay at my place, but he ended up taking off to beat traffic. Smelly stayed with me and she along with my mom are planning on staying the rest of the week.

My first day of school today was a bit long, mainly due to me having a very bad night sleep-wise. Plus I don’t know what it is, but people here have a hard time staying to the right on bike paths. In fact one guy almost ran his bike into in the middle of the street while we were crossing. Hopefully tomorrow will be better. We shall see.

I have a butt-load of homework to do before I take Mom and Smelly to Sex and the City. Yes, I know I can’t help it! ^_^

That’s a lovely bike! Jealousyeeeee!

Hope you get to sleep better soon, I know how that is. Chaz and his late nights because of his job make it so hard to fall asleep because I hear him moving around the house. :(
