The Friday Five ~
1. What drink wakes you up best in the morning?
Coffee is the only thing that wakes me up in the morning.
2. During the day, what do you drink to keep going?
I drink water and sometimes a SoBe Green Tea!
3. Do you drink the recommended 8 glasses of water per day? Why/why not?
I try to, but it’s not easy, especially since it sends you to the bathroom so much!
4. What are the ingredients of your favorite mixed drink?
1 oz of Absolut Citron, ½ oz of Triple sec, ½ oz of Rose’s Lime Juice, and ¾ oz of Cranberry Juice. Put altogether in a cocktail shaker and pour into a chilled martini glass. This makes a yummy Cosmopolitan!
5. Are you a coffee drinker? How do you take your coffee, if so?
I sure am a coffee drinker! At home in the morning I take 2 cups of coffee mixed in with enough French Vanilla Coffee Mate to change the color of my coffee. It’s the only way I’ll drink it straight. Otherwise when I go to Starbucks I get a Skinny Vanilla Latte or a JavaChip Frappucino with a shot of peppermint.

After leaving on Thursday I am finally back from a very fun weekend of camping at Manchester State Park. Thursday I ditched school in order to finish packing and make an early start up to the campgrounds. We got there around 4pm and soon after we arrived we left again with the rest of the family to check out a nearby lighthouse while the men fished. It was a lot of fun, but I wasn’t at all prepared to be climbing down cliffs to get to the ocean so naturally I got a bit dirty. Came back to the campsite for a lovely dinner, got to take a shower, and spent the evening hanging around the campfire.
Friday, 4th of July, we visited the town of Fort Bragg, which happened to be the city I stayed near during my Outdoor Education trip in 6th grade! We wandered around town, had a nice lunch of sushi, and even checked out Glass Beach (I went here in 6th grade as well). We stopped in the small town of Mendocino (not to be confused with Mendocino County) and eventually headed back for another evening around the campfire.
Saturday was spent on the beaches of Point Arena. This was further down the coast but still in the same city as the lighthouse we checked out on our first day up. Again the men fished while the rest of us hung around on the beach. I didn’t anticipate it being as warm as it was and my moisturizer was without SPF so I ended up burning my nose pretty badly. We came back to the campsite for dinner and about 6pm Joshua and I headed on home. Bobby and Amber followed behind an hour later and 11:30pm we all were sound asleep.
Today was the Mercedes-Benz Sunday drive which started in the city of Los Altos and ended in Felton. It was a long drive mainly because I was exhausted from the camping and we made two winery stops throughout the drive. Even the ending lunch took forever and we didn’t arrive home till closer to 5pm. Still, it’s always a pleasure to see old friends on the drive.
Well my weekend is coming to a close and it’s back to math tomorrow. Hope everyone had a fun and safe weekend! I’m hoping to have a new layout up at the end of this week!
