1. Smells, and memories. Do you have a scent that when you smell it, brings up a memory? Do share.
Down the bike path by my house is an area surrounded in pine trees. I can smell the dust, the grit, and the pine and those smells can make me think of only one place: Sugarloaf.
2. Songs. Is there a particular song that brings back happy memories?
When I was flying into LAX the day after Christmas in 2006 to see Joshua for the first time in a month, the song “Raindrops Keep Fallin On My Head” by Barry Manilow came on my iPod. It was one of those perfect moments for a song because we had been flying through fog the entire time and we had just come out of it over the ocean. It was such a beautiful scene and the music came on at perfect timing.
3. How about a song that brings up painful memories?
Back in my junior year of high school, which happened to be the worst year in high school for me, the song “Mad World” by Gary Jules was a frequent song on my playlist. Anytime I listen to it a flood of sad memories comes back.
4. Food. Is there a certain food that conjures up memories?
Eating McDonald’s brings up so many memories I can’t even begin to tell you.
5. Clothing? Do you have an item of clothing or if you see a certain item, does it make you think of a time/place or person?
Anytime I come across my burgundy music boosters polo shirt it makes me think of the good times I had in marching band.

The Friday Five ~ Memories

Hmm.. Calamine lotion reminds me alot of my childhood, since i was always covered in mosquito bites ~_~
2. Songs. Is there a particular song that brings back happy memories?
Hmm… christmas carols in general always bring back good memories. and umm.. jazz music makes me think of highschool. good times ^^

Oh goodness… i have all sorts of painful songs.. mostly related to love…
4. Food. Is there a certain food that conjures up memories?
Tomato, avocado and cheese sandwiches makes me think of all my child hood summer picnics. and potato salad!
5. Clothing? Do you have an item of clothing or if you see a certain item, does it make you think of a time/place or person?
Hmmm… flip flops make me think of my mom. and anything truley bright and garish makes me think of all the terrible things i wore when i was little. sweater vests remind me of my twin when she was in her old man phase.

“Last Christmas” - the first Christmas song I’ve ever heard.

“The Best Damn Thing”. So many painful memories…

Eating at McDonalds reminds me of all those other times I ate at McDonalds after a piano recital.

These pants that look a lot like a skirt remind me of my sister, one of the first times she picked me up from school.
LOL I know what you mean about McDonalds! I think EVERYBODY has tons of memories connected to that food!
