Wow, can you believe it? One month till Christmas! Usually we have a month and a few days before Christmas on Thanksgiving, but this year Thanksgiving is on a later date than usual.
With that said, I hate it when around this time of year the news has to do some story on how people never use giftcards; they’ll interview people who exclaim, “Oh yeah I have a giftcard from this store and that store and I didn’t know I had them!” At the end of the segment they make some comment about how to avoid getting giftcards.
This pisses me off because I WANT GIFTCARDS! I LOVE to shop! And besides… the only family members who really know how to get me exactly what I want for Christmas happens to be my uncle (and cousins who help shop
). Not to mention, Safeway makes it super easy to get giftcards to places I shop and eat at! Damn news.
Today turned out to be a pretty good day for a Monday. In speech I was pleasantly surprised to find that my teacher decided to cancel our quiz. We practiced our persuasive speeches with a partner and we drew numbers for when we’d be performing them for our grade. I don’t have to go until the last day of class, so I have two extra weeks to work on my speech. Hurray!
Math was just two hours of boring, as usual. Afterward, I went to Long’s to pick up my BC pills and then bopped around the local shopping center for a wee bit. Came home, did things on the computer, went out to dinner with Joshua, and went to The Container Store to purchase a shadow box so I could make this:
I don’t have the courage to wear any of the jewelery I was left by her, so I decided to make a little shrine to her. And yes, that picture above is me when I was about 2 years old with my Nana. ♥ It is going to be a very sad holiday season. The first holidays without my Nana.

Lol! I just wrote a blog with an almost identical title to yours!
Hmm, I like gift cards too. I like choosing my own stuff, or combining more than one for a bigger item. I wonder why people don’t like them, maybe they think they’re…impersonal? o.O
I like the memory shrine you made for your Nana, it’s a very nice tribute.
And seriously, how cute were you as a two year old!?
That is just beautiful!
