It always seems like just when I thought I’ve paid all the bills for the month then new ones show up. I think budgeting each month would be a whole lot easier if all bills came at the same time. I know it’d be a lot easier for me since Joshua and I split the bills (Yes, I may be rent free, but I sure as heck ain’t bill free! ), and that way I’d know how much money to give him towards bills a month.

Why can’t there be a universal day where all companies bill people? I just think life would be so much easier, ya know?

In other news, I finally got the license plates for my car. Now if more hostile drivers come after me they can call the California Air Resources Board on me!

    Gahhhh bills. Do not want.

The thing I’m currently stressing out about bill-wise is adding Daniel to my health insurance – it adds an extra TWO HUNDRED AND SIXTY-SIX DOLLARS PER MONTH. x( :omg: I think I would feel worse if I didn’t add him though, because what if he falls over on the way to work and needs medical attention and I decided that I valued money more than his intact self, and UGH. So I signed him up.

I agree though, I wish I even remembered what time of the month most of our bills come so I could prepare for them. Do you use Mint.com? At least there you can track it after the fact to know how much you’re spending on certain things.

@Meggan: Both Joshua and I use Quicken. I can’t imagine managing my finances without that. Still, it’d be nice to just go, “Okay I need $x on the fifth of every month” or something like that.

Blah @ bills. Do you use the actual Quicken software or the online version? Mint.com is pretty cool but they don’t really have a great budgeting tool and I *REALLY* need a better budget… :P

  4. Cristina says:

@Melissa: We use the actual software. So worth every penny! It’s such a great budgeting tool!

That would make it easier but I doubt it’ll ever happen.

As soon as we get our check on the 3rd of each month we sit down with a calculator and paper and take out all the money for all the bills we know we have to pay each month then hide the rest to use for rainy days, groceries and other needed things. It’s tedious but it works for us ;)
