About a month ago I was starting to post a reason a day (out of 30) why I am excited to be moving from Marin back home to Sacramento. Of course, life happened, I got a little sidetracked, so I decided to just post all 30 reasons here.
30. New house has central *air conditioning!! (and heating)
29. No bridge toll!
28. Wal-mart and K-Mart are allowed in Sac County. And everywhere else except Marin.
27. Two bathrooms in my new home, one with a nice bathtub, no leaks or ugly, cracked pink tiles.
26. There’s more than one Chili’s nearby and they aren’t closing anytime soon! (including one 1.5 miles away from my house)
25. Decent size kitchen in my new place with plenty of counter-space!
24. A garage that will fit one, even two vehicles with room to spare!
23. Joshua won’t get dirty looks when he works on his car in the driveway.
22. The speed limit is always 65mph on the freeway! Never goes to 55mph!
21. No bicyclists who act like the laws of the road don’t exist for them.
20. Garage won’t flood everytime it rains!
19. You can buy two large pizzas (good pizzas) for under $10!
18. No Mexicans hanging out on the corner trying to hail you like you’re a taxi
17. People know how to drive!
16. Won’t have worry about when and if the bathroom floor will fall through.
15. Every house in our neighborhood has a truck instead of a Prius!
14. So many things to do and they don’t cost a fortune to do!
13. Friends and family can actually visit us!
12. People don’t act like they’re above the law because they have money.
11. Dollar Tree and Grocery Outlets galore! And no judgment for shopping at either one from people!
10. White people still work at fast food restaurants; therefore they get your order right.
9. Drive-in movie theatre!
8. Can go to Green Valley Community Church with family every Sunday!
7. People are generally okay with you owning a gun.
6. 2 IMAX movie theatres!
5. The cost of living is a lot cheaper!
4. People are nicer!
3. An overall bigger house with plenty of space!
2. Being two hours closer to our family and friends.
1. It’s home.
Now I’m sure loyal locals can refute my reasons for moving, but at least I’ve lived in other areas to know there are better things outside the bay area. It was okay while it lasted, and I’m definitely going to miss my next-door neighbors (the only nice and normal people here). Yet, I am more than happy to be bidding the bay adieu!
Sac-Town… I’m coming home on Thursday!
*The next person down here that tries to tell me, “Oh but air conditioning is so expensive!” I’m going to punch them in the face. If I wanted to live in the heat I’d be living in Arizona. I like to be comfortable, thank you very much!

Sound like good reasons to me! Good luck with the last minute moving stuff! :D
