I put my whole house tour up on the LiveJournal community saucydwellings, and I thought I would share it here too since my posts about each room have been spread far apart over the last few months.

For those of you new here, the house belonged to my grandma (Nana) who passed away about a year ago. It passed into possession of my dad and uncle, who allowed my boyfriend and I to move in. We officially moved in at the end of May, and it took us 4 months to 100% complete everything. As you’ll see, every single room in the house was redone.

When you come in the front door, you’ll see my lovely lil entryway.

The area by the door was completely covered in wood paneling, but luckily we were able to remove it and give the wall a fresh coat of paint!

The first room you’ll see on the left is the living room. Originally this room was just a sitting room. The only time my Nana ever really used this room was during Christmas if she hosted Christmas. Other than that it was home to spare furniture.

The turquoise furniture belonged to my grandma and was fairly new as she redid her living room (now the dining room) awhile back.

Next you’ll go down the hallway to where the bedrooms, office room, and bathroom is.

First you’ll come up on the guest bathroom.

Because it’s the one bathroom with a bathub (the master bathroom just has a shower) I wanted it to have a relaxing feel to it hence the whole spa/teak theme.

Across the hall from the bathroom is where it all happens – the office room, home to all things geek! This room was one of three (not including the entryway) that had wood paneling on one wall. Also for some reason this was the only room that had oh-so-sexy wallpaper hiding beneath the paneling.

Coming out of the office if you continue straight to the end of hall is the guest room. It was room number two with paneling, and at first we weren’t planning on removing it as whoever decided to put it up thought it would be awesome to glue the paneling on; we didn’t want to risk ruining the wall, but once we did a similar process we went back to do the guest room.

Coming out of the guest room the master bedroom is to the left.

Within our bedroom also dwells our wee little master bathroom.

Coming out of the bedroom and heading back down the hallway …

… you’ll find yourself walking into the kitchen! I had a tough time with the kitchen at first, but everything ended up turning out alright. I fought long and hard with this kitchen mainly thanks to the wallpaper and oak paneling in the eating area. It was also challenging dealing with the avocado green countertops and floor in order to choose an appropriate wall color. However I made it all work, and when the day comes that new countertops and flooring get put in here, it will look even better!

If you walk through the double doors you’ll find yourself in the dining room. When my Nana lived here she used this as her living room which is why in the before pics you’ll see the same turquoise furniture. It’s also room number three that had paneling, however it was painted over, and then we removed it completely. Now, it’s a fully functional dining room. I’m hoping in the future to get a big table (one with leaves) as well as matching chairs in the future.

On the opposite end of the dining room are screen doors which lead out to our lovely little patio and backyard…
