Emo and Happy

If the world was ending and you could listen to one song, what would it be?
I would listen to the song “Everything” by Lifehouse because it’s my song with Joshua.

How did you first come across that song?
It was a week after we started going out. I was riding along in his car and we were just driving all over town enjoying each other’s company and listening to his mixed CDs when that song came on. It was such a beautiful song that I started crying because it kinda made me feel vulnerable. Listening to beautiful music is like opening up my heart. Joshua then pulled over and just hugged me until I was done crying and at that moment it just became our song.

Where would you listen to it, and with whom?
I would listen to it with Joshua while sitting in his car in the Placerville McDonald’s parking lot.

And how can I stand here with you
And not be moved by you
Would you tell me how could it be
Any better than this

Cause you’re all I want
You’re all I need
You’re everything… everything

Today celebrates my two year anniversary dating Joshua. Unfortunately I do not get to spend this day with him. However, this a small sacrifice I have to make in the journey towards a better future together. It’s already been a little over a month and soon his training will be done and the next phase of our life can begin. I am excited for the future. Joshua, I love you.

As you can see, new site layout in honor of my two years. Based off our song “Everything” by Lifehouse. Pictures used include one of us two months in, our prom picture, and my favorite emo picture (haha Anna) from a few months ago. I am very proud of how this layout turned out.

On Saturday after work I met up with my mom, sister, and Becca at Arden Fair mall where we ate dinner, shopped and saw Marie Antoinette. Man, that movie was great! I loved the music and costumes oh-so-much! The plot wasn’t that great, but because it was directed by Sophia Coppola it wasn’t meant to be a GREAT movie, if you know what I mean. Still, I loved it and want to own it.

Anyways, gotta go get ready for a fun day of Yoga, History of the US, and Film History. Yippie skippie in a jam jar.

The Friday Five ~
1. What was the first CD/Record/Album/Artist you ever bought and what format was it in? (Vinyl/Cassette/CD/MP3 Download)?
A lot of my first music came to me as gifts so it wasn’t until Christmas of 1999 that I began buying my own music. The first ones I purchased on my own were Christina Aguilera’s first album and 98 Degrees and Rising.

2. How do you usually listen to music? (iPod/Walkman/Stereo/Radio)
When I am in the car or out & about, it’s my iPod. When I am at home, it’s iTunes.

3. What is your favorite genre of music and why?
My absolute favorite type of music to listen to is movie scores. Music is what gives movies emotion and a good composer knows how to do that.

4. What is your opinion on music video shows and music television?
You know, everytime I browse the menu to see what is playing on MTV it’s never music videos! If you’re going to be called “Music Television”, please actually play music videos.

5. Do you usually agree with who the winners of the Grammy Awards are?
I don’t watch the Grammy Awards enough to give a fair or even worthy opinion on that.

This past week has been pretty good for me! Now that my kickboxing class is out of the mix, suddenly I am feeling a lot more rested and having more time to get things done. Yesterday I had no work so I had the entire day to myself until my 7pm math class. Even that turned out good as I got a 18/20 on my most recent test.

Nothing too exciting happening for the next few days. I have work today 1-10pm and then work 8am-5pm on Saturday. YAY.

What a crock! Not only was I the ONLY person that dressed up for Halloween at work, but they were playing Christmas music already! I don’t know which is worst … the fact they’re playing Christmas music or the fact that it happens to be the exact same Christmas music being played when I was working at BBW a year ago. Either way, I was disappointed. And my decorating went to a waste because barely anybody brought in anything for the potluck. I swear, my Halloweens are getting worst every year. :(

I think what’s really making me sad is how the media is slowly diminishing Halloween and Thanksgiving. Halloween just happened today and 2-3 weeks prior, Christmas stuff has been appearing everywhere. My store just did a 48 Holiday Transition where they spent all night decorating the entire store for Christmas. I was a little understanding when the media was pushing for Christmas before Thanksgiving, but before Halloween? I protest!
